Belknap Recount: Fraud! Fraud! Fraud!

Roger Belknap Ottawa County Commissioner District 9

No – not really.

Ottawa Impact commissioner Roger Belknap lost to Phillip Kuyers in the Republican primary by 16 points, over 1,000 votes. You had to know it was coming – RECOUNT! Filing a request with the Ottawa County Clerk’s office, he claimed “fraud or errors were committed” by precinct election inspectors during the voting process.

Republicans believe widespread fraud

Some Republicans have made a career out of protesting their loses. The result is a skewed loss of confidence in our election process primarily by Republicans and Trumpers.

Proof of Fraud

Belknap can be excused for his distrust because he has iron clad proof of fraud. What is his proof? Why, screenshots of the WZZM reporting that he and Jon Anderson won by big margins (neither one did). Of course, Republicans are well known for trusting the main stream media. Well, at least when it errors in their favor. Yes, WZZM, of course, is in charge of the official election results, not the county clerk. Whatever they report goes!

WZZM incorrect election reporting

That is why when they reported the correct election results the next day, it was just further proof of fraud – or something. Note the counts were simply reversed – oops.

WZZM corrected reporting
Voter fraud

So what is it that makes Republicans challenge and keep denying obvious election results?

Is it narcissism, they can’t believe the voters don’t want them? Is it a strategy, if they keep crying fraud somehow it will come true? Or is it the Ottawa Impact tradition to just cause as much trouble and chaos as possible? Belknap is on the hook for $5,000 but I am confident that won’t cover the full cost, we the residents of Ottawa County will be picking up the rest of the tab.

Justin Roebuck

Belknap has the legal right to challenge the election results but my money is on our county clerk, Justin Roebuck, and his team.

Grand Haven Township resident who voted for Phillip Kuyers. Goodbye Roger Belknap – and good riddance!
