Ottawa County Multipartisan Voter Guide

We, as Ottawa County residents, have been accustomed to a high-functioning county government that has been a model for the rest of the state.

However, since the Ottawa Impact backed candidates swept the majority control of the board of commissioners in 2022, our beloved county has been plagued with wasteful spending, lack of transparency, and divisive actions.

Organize Ottawa District 9 PAC

• Fired highly respected county administrator and attorney, leading to severance costs of over $300,000, and then hired John Gibbs in a secret process. Gibbs was later fired and is now suing the county (Source: Holland Sentinel)
• Hired Kallman Legal Group (minimal experience in municipal law; best known for championing conservative causes) through a secret process resulting in legal costs greater than $730,000 in their first year (greatly exceeded prior years). (Source: MLive)
• Significantly cut County Health Department’s budget, jeopardizing services to residents. (Source: Fox17)
• Illegally attempted to fire the Executive Health Administrator and replace her with someone who didn’t meet the basic qualifications for the job. (Source: Bridge Michigan)
